King Mo's Debut, Lindland vs. 'Jacare' Proposed for December Strikeforce Event

Muhammed LawalStrikeforce is gearing up for a busy November, but the organization already has plans in place for their year-end show as well. Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said on this week's edition of The MMA Hour (which will be featured later this week on MMA FanHouse) that the organization's next big Showtime event will take place on Dec. 19 from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.

Coker also mentioned that recent Strikeforce signee, "King" Muhammed Lawal, is scheduled to make his debut on the show, but no opponent has been signed just yet.

Robbie Lawler Set for December Return, Offered 'Jacare' or Nick Diaz Fight

Little has been heard from Robbie Lawler since losing to Jake Shields at a Strikeforce event in June, but FanHouse has learned that the former EliteXC middleweight champion has been offered to return on Strirkeforce's December card. Lawler has verbally agreed to fight at the end of the year but no opponent has been finalized.

FanHouse has also learned that two opponents have been talked about to face Lawler: Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and Nick Diaz.

Monte Cox Pushing for Robbie Lawler to Face Matt 'The Law' Lindland Next

Last week, Strikeforce CEO and founder Scott Coker told FanHouse that he wanted to book a middleweight match-up between Robbie Lawler and Ronaldo Souza for the organization's upcoming fall show, headlined by Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers. At the time, Coker mentioned that he had yet to talk to Lawler's agent, Monte Cox, about the fight.

Cox told FanHouse then that it was the first he heard about it, and that it didn't excite him all that much. On Monday, he flat out said he had no interest in making it happen.

Strikeforce Targeting Robbie Lawler vs. Ronaldo Souza in Fall

Strikeforce is looking to book a middleweight match-up between Robbie Lawler and Ronaldo Souza on the same card that will feature the Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers bout later this year on Showtime. Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker informed FanHouse of the news at the Emelianenko public workout at the FightHouse gym in New York City on Wednesday.

Coker said that he has yet to talk to Lawler's manager, Monte Cox, about the fight, but is hopeful a deal can be reached.

Matt Lindland Content With Career, Eyes Shot at Strikeforce Middleweight Title

One could argue that the Strikeforce middleweight division is the organization's strongest, and we can now add newest signee Matt Lindland to a list that already includes Jake Shields, Cung Le, Frank Shamrock, Robbie Lawler, Ronaldo Souza and Jason Miller.

FanHouse spoke to Lindland recently about his new deal with Strikeforce and when he expects to fight next. Check out the full video interview below.

Scott Coker Addresses Dream Alliance

Following the Strikeforce event on Saturday night, CEO Scott Coker invited DREAM event producer Keiichi Sasahara to discuss the new alliance between both organizations.

Coker talked about putting together match-ups like Robbie Lawler vs. Melvin Manhoef and Josh Thomson vs. Shinya Aoki in the near future. He also mentioned that Showtime could air a Strikeforce-DREAM event, as well. A video of Coker and
Sasahara addressing the media can be found below.

Villasenor's 'Respect Tour '09' Begins

A year ago, Joey Villasenor was feeling really good about his MMA career. He had just defeated Phil Baroni on the first-ever MMA event broadcast on network television and was primed to make a run at the EliteXC middleweight title. He was then three weeks away from receiving that shot and an opportunity to avenge an October 2006 loss to Robbie Lawler, until the organization suddenly ceased operations and cancelled the event in November.

Since then, Villasenor has been anxiously awaiting his chance to get back in the cage. "I just can't wait to be under the lights, man," he said. "That's what I have done over frickin' 30 times professionally. I just can't wait to feel that numbness in my stomach. I've kind of grown addicted to it."

On Friday night, Villasenor will feel that numbness again when he faces Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos in the main event of "Strikeforce: Challengers" on Showtime (watch their weigh-in scuffle from Thursday). FanHouse spoke to the native of Albquerque, N.M., about resuming his career and his place in Strikeforce's middleweight division. The full interview is below.

Rogers, Shields and Diaz Emerge as Stars During Strikeforce Card

As a relatively new promoter in the mixed martial arts world, Strikeforce has two objectives during events. First of all, it hopes for excitement. Second, it hopes to create new stars.

Both goals were reached during Saturday night's card on Strikeforce.

Jake Shields, Brett Rogers and Nick Diaz emerged as forces to be reckoned with after wins during Strikeforce's St. Louis event.

Jake Shields Hopes Win Over Lawler Sets Him Up for Title Shot With Cung Le

After eight months away from the cage while in legal limbo, former EliteXC welterweight champ Jake Shields returns in one of the biggest tests of his career, moving up to a 182-pound catch weight to fight former EliteXC middleweight champion Robbie Lawler.

The matchup takes place Saturday night at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri, about a 15-minute drive from Lawler's current hometown in Granite City, Illinois. The event airs on Showtime at 10 pm ET.

Shields was nice enough to take some time out of his fight week schedule and talk to FanHouse about moving up in weight classes, why he'd fight either Joe Riggs or Kimbo Slice, how close he came to joining the UFC and more.
