Tom Brady Admits to Begging for Flags

It all started with the bogus personal foul penalty on the Ravens' Terrell Suggs for his late hit caress of Tom Brady's upper thigh. First, Rodney Harrison suggested Brady remove the skirt he wore over his uniform. Then predictably angry Pats fans responded, followed by Tom Terrific, who took Rodney's comments in the spirit in which they were intended -- as a joke.

And that was that, right?

Not quite. Even though Brady kidded that, "Rodney's been fined more than any player in the history of the NFL, so I can understand why he's a little sensitive about cheap shots at the quarterback," according to the Boston Globe, he's not apologizing for whining to the official for a flag following the Suggs fly-by.

Brady Responds to Harrison, Belichick Talks Seau and 'Bull Stomping'

This is a couple days old but, really, there's always room for more Tom Brady news. You're welcome.

Sunday night Rodney Harrison, former Patriots cheap-shot expert turned NBC studio analyst, had some advice for Brady following Baltimore-New England game: "... Tom Brady, if you're listening, take off the skirt and put on some slacks -- toughen up." The comments were in reference to this play, one that left Ray Lewis very sad.

NFL Twitter Mailbag: Browns, Jets, T.O.

The big mess that is Cleveland Browns is the first subject of business for our latest NFL Twitter mailbag, where we explore the decision to bench Brady Quinn and what it tells us, in hindsight, about Quinn dropping in the 2007 NFL draft. We also look at Eric Mangini, who looks through three games like one of the worst head-coaching hires in modern NFL history.

We then switch gears to talk about a couple of Twitter issues: Terrell Owens taking to Twitter to rip Rodney Harrison, and David Clowney getting benched for tweeting about his playing time. Your questions and comments, and my responses, are below.

Bills Fan Has Popcorn Ready, Dumps It on Terrell Owens

Sure, Terrell Owens may have spent much of Sunday night and Monday morning documenting all the reasons Rodney Harrison is an HGH-addled fraud, but at least Harrison has his dignity.

As T.O. walked off the field at Ralph Wilson Stadium following his no-catch performance in the Bills' loss to the Saints, a fan, with nothing better to do with his popcorn, dumped it on Owens.

Terrell Owens Rips Rodney Harrison

Terrell OwensBuffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens took to Twitter to lash out at former Patriots safety and current NBC analyst Rodney Harrison Sunday night, responding to Harrison ripping him on television by making pointed comments about Harrison's 2007 performance-enhancing drug suspension.

Change of Script: Jets Become Targets of Smack Talk

Ahmard HallComments from Titans fullback Ahmard Hall have eliminated any doubt. One of the running themes of this year's NFL season is going to be trash talk and the New York Jets. Up until this point, the Jets have been the ones running their mouths with the explicit approval of new coach Rex Ryan, but it was inevitable that some of it would get lobbed back in their direction.

We thought it happened last week, but it turned out to be a fake Rodney Harrison doing the tweeting. Now, though, we've got our first actual return of fire. Hall isn't a fan of Jets linebacker Bart Scott's running on-field commentary. On the eve of this Sunday's game, Hall told Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean exactly why.

Rodney Harrison Not on Twitter

Rodey HarrisonOne of the more entertaining stories in the NFL last week was about former New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison and current New York Jets safety Kerry Rhodes having a war of words over Twitter. But there's just one problem: Harrison, who's now an NFL analyst for NBC, isn't on Twitter. The account @Rodneyh37, which Rhodes and others assumed was written by Harrison, was bogus.

Kerry Rhodes-Rodney Harrison Twitter War Sets Stage for Jets-Patriots

Kerry RhodesIf you didn't know better, you'd think that Sunday's Jets-Patriots game was for the AFC Championship. There has been an outsize amount of jabbering between the two rivals, most of it coming from the Jets, for a game that will leave one team at 1-1 with 14 games to play.

The latest and, presumably, final stage in the pregame yammering took place on the radio and Twitter Friday between Jets safety Kerry Rhodes and former Patriots safety Rodney Harrison. Earlier this week Rhodes said that the Jets didn't want to just beat the Patriots, they wanted to embarrass them. Harrison responded during a radio interview.

Richard Seymour Is Ready to Play

Richard Seymour's twisted, tortured road to Oakland appeared to smooth on Saturday when the former New England Patriots defensive end said he is making his way to the Raiders' Alameda training headquarters.

"I'll be the one on top of the quarterback," Seymour told the Boston Herald, indicating he plans to play in the Raiders' season opener Monday night againt the San Diego Chargers at the Oakland Coliseum.

Rodney Harrison Would Like to Put a Bounty on Terrell Owens

Rodney Harrison is already tired of Terrell Owens. Never mind that we're just one game into the season, or that Harrison isn't even in the NFL. The former head-hunting Patriots safety now works as an analyst for NBC, but apparently he hasn't yet attended the seminar on journalistic impartiality.

During a Thursday radio interview with Boston's WEEI, Harrison went to town on T.O.
