We may never know exactly what happened the day former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, died. But it's clear from a new report by Armen Keteyian of CBS News that things didn't transpire exactly the way the police claimed.

In the wake of Steve McNair's murder at the hands of mistress Sahel Kazemi, it seems there's an unending path of negativity following the former NFL MVP. The latest? The New York Daily News is reporting, via an anonymous source, that McNair carried on a six-year affair with an exotic dancer in Minneapolis, Minn.

According to the source, whom the News referred to as a "former business manager (of the strip club in question)," McNair was a "frequent visitor to the club and had an intimate and extramarital relationship" with said dancer. According to this person, the woman knew McNair was married with children, but still didn't care.

The Nashville Police Department on Wednesday released the 911 call that Steve McNair's friend Robert Gaddy made to report the deaths of McNair and Sahel Kazemi, the woman police say killed McNair before killing herself.

Update (July 8, 4:30 ET): Police confirmed during a press conference in Nashville that Kazemi shot and killed McNair before turning the gun on herself.

Preliminary testing on the bodies of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi seem to corroborate the theory of a murder-suicide incident, state medical examiner Feng Li told The Tennesseean.

"The results were very consistent in supporting our decision," said Li, who performed the dual autopsies for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Li declined to confirm a murder-suicide, however, with results of ballistics tests on the gun and toxicology reports still pending.

On Sunday, approximately 24 hours after McNair and Kazemi were found dead, police declared McNair's death a homicide. One day later, Nashville police confirmed that the gun found on the scene had been purchased by Kazemi less than two days before the incident.

Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher, who coached Steve McNair for his first 11 seasons in the NFL, remembered the slain quarterback Monday as a loving husband and father and a good man both on and off the field. He also spoke for McNair, even apologizing on McNair's behalf and suggesting that McNair would want to say he's sorry for his relationship with Sahel Kazemi, the woman who allegedly killed him and killed herself.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Steve McNair's 20-year-old girlfriend bought a gun a couple of days before she was found dead alongside the slain former NFL quarterback, her relative said Monday.

Farzin Abdi said police told him about the gun purchase by his aunt Sahel Kazemi, who was raised with him like a sister. Kazemi and McNair were found dead on Saturday in a Nashville condominium leased by the former Titans star.

Abdi said police told him they are almost sure Kazemi was the shooter, but the 27-year-old nephew said he doesn't believe she would do it. Abdi didn't know what day of the week the gun was purchased or what type of gun it was.

We tend to forget that there are human beings behind statistics -- the touchdowns, the passes, catches and tackles. The victories, mistakes and losses. Then Steve McNair, once a powerful, influential football player, but also a husband, father of four and a friend, was gunned down.

As the shock of his sudden death staggered friends and fans, the details quickly became muddled and disturbing. Why was McNair shot multiple times, including twice in the head? Who was the 20-year-old woman, found dead of a single gunshot wound to the head, lying near McNair's feet in the former quarterback's rented Nashville condominium?

The Tennessee Titans' signature player and a beloved figure in the Nashville community, gone at age 36.

Steve McNair played for Jeff Fisher for 11 seasons, including a trip to the Super Bowl in 2000. On Saturday, Fisher, who was in the Persian Gulf as part of the inaugural NFL-USO Tour, learned that McNair was dead.
