Clemens to McNamee: Let's Take This Legal Biz Up a Notch

The Roger Clemens vs Brian McNamee battle has been heating up more with each passing day, and while it probably wont be reaching critical mass until they hook up with Congress tomorrow, the water continues to boil today.

The Rocket initiated a lawsuit against his former trainer back in early January in response to what he viewed as defamation; in case you've been completely out of the loop, McNamee was a key source of info in Senator Mitchell's epic steroids report, calling out many players as juice abusers, Rocket included. Roger has vehemently denied the allegations, so the defamation suit was the logical next step in his all-out crusade to prove his innocence (or at least lack of guilt).

It should come as no surprise that even the lawsuit issue has now gotten nuttier. The suit was initially filed in Harris County District Court in Houston, but it has no been "upgraded" to a federal court: the U.S. District Court in Houston, to be precise. McNamee initiated the motion to move the case, because he and Clemens are residents of different states and because Rog plans to ask for at leask $75,000 in damages from McNamee as restitution for his former trainer's blabbing about the HGH use (or non-use ... innocent until proven guilty, folks!).

Unfortunately for those of us that aren't completely sick of all of this and are still eager to see more of the saga unfold, the first part of the exciting legal action wont happen until April fourth, when a pretrial conference will take place.
