The Adds Shonn Greene (RB, Jets, 3,866 adds) - No secret here as the Irish eyes smiled upon Shonn Greene this past weekend. Just as it looked like Greene's odds at making an impact in his rookie season were getting close to nil, Leon Washington suffered a broken leg and headed off to the old sawbones. Given his chance, Greene earned his keep with 144 yards and two touchdowns in a rout of the hapless Raiders. Miami should prove a better test in Week 8 as to Greene's real worth, but for now he represents a must-add in all formats.
Some teams are entirely too stubborn. Not only will they leave bad quarterbacks in to take mental and physical beatings, but they'll insist on running offensive plays that don't seem to take the team's strengths into account, oftentimes leaning way too much on a struggling quarterback to make plays. As the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns (among others) have now learned, this is a recipe for disaster.
After a 37-7 drubbing of his Chiefs on Sunday, running back Larry Johnson spent post-game energy focused on his Twitter stream instead of reflecting on the 1-6 start to the season in Kansas City. He called out head coach Todd Haley in a way most employees don't recover from when speaking poorly of their employers.

Johnson is obviously upset at how the Chiefs are playing. He may even be upset at the fact that he's not getting enough touches. But, we won't know what's bothering Johnson because not only did he delete his controversial tweets, he also protected his Twitter stream from being viewed unless Johnson gives explicit permission. According to Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star, he's also not happy with the media asking about his tweets.
Alex Smith's return as the 49ers' starting quarterback in the second half of Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Texans at Houston's Reliant Stadium produced career numbers for the former No. 1 overall draft pick. And it may force a philosophical change for a 29th-ranked San Francisco offense that had been sputtering under quarterback Shaun Hill's direction.

That gave Crabtree a starting assignment in his NFL debut, and the former Texas Tech star showed he was worth the wait.

Mike Sims-Walker has quickly become a fantasy god, going from "Who's that?" to having his own three-letter acronym (a la teammate MJD) in the mere span of three weeks. Against Tennessee, I was convinced he'd have another great game, which he did, catching seven balls for 91 yards and two TDs. Averaging a touchdown and over six catches and 90 yards a game, he's clearly the number one option in Jacksonville. Since it would be silly to feature him every week, I'll just say again that he must be owned in your league and started every week.

Brett Favre, QB Minnesota (24-31, 271 yards, 3 TDs) -- I hated to do it, but it had to be done. Favre, no matter his age or hair color or unique ability to make 49 out of 50 states hate him profusely, went out against his old team and basically, and excuse my language, whooped their a***s like a Wrangler commercial gone bad. Make no bones about it -- Green Bay isn't a bad team, and Favre picked apart its secondary like it was a Division-II squad.
