The lightweight division in mixed martial arts consists of
B.J. Penn and everyone else.
We all know that Penn, the UFC champion, has established himself as the top lightweight in the sport. But after Penn, there are about a dozen guys who are practically interchangeable. That list includes UFC fighters like Penn's next opponent (
Diego Sanchez), his last opponent (
Kenny Florian), and some past and future UFC opponents like
Gray Maynard,
Frank Edgar and
Sean Sherk.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, ILL. -- DREAM lightweight champion
Shinya Aoki made a special appearance at the Strikeforce weigh-ins on Friday, and FanHouse spoke to "Tobikan Judan" about the possibility of fighting in the United States in the near future.
Aoki also talked about unifying the DREAM and Strikeforce lightweight titles and when he expects to fight again. The full video interview is below.

Joe Stevenson looked like the happiest man in California on Saturday night before and after his
UFC 104 victory over
Spencer Fisher. When FanHouse spoke to "Joe Daddy" about his second-round submission win, he praised the work of his new coach, Greg Jackson, and said that he now has a new lease on life.
Stevenson also explained why he believed Fisher was "oily" during the fight and why his dream match would be against

K-1 event producer Sadaharu Tanikawa and DREAM producer Keiiti Sasahara held a press conference Wednesday in Tokyo to formally announce
"Dynamite!! 2009" for New Year's Eve at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
Tanikawa said the event will be similar to last year's in that there will be a mixture of K-1 kickboxing and DREAM mixed martial arts bouts to fill out an 18-fight lineup.

The 16 competitors for DREAM.11 stepped on the scale Monday to make official Tuesday's card from the Yokohama Arena in Japan.
DREAM lightweight champion
Joachim Hansen will defend his title in a rubber match against
Shinya Aoki and a featherweight champion will be crowned at the conclusion of the 2009 Featherweight GP.

Following the Strikeforce event on Saturday night, CEO
Scott Coker invited DREAM event producer
Keiichi Sasahara to discuss the new alliance between both organizations.
Coker talked about putting together match-ups like Robbie Lawler vs. Melvin Manhoef and Josh Thomson vs. Shinya Aoki in the near future. He also mentioned that Showtime could air a Strikeforce-DREAM event, as well. A video of Coker and Sasahara addressing the media can be found below.
