Not So Fast, Tito

In a video interview we recently posted with Tito Ortiz shot this past weekend in Pittsburgh, "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" said that he is set to start his own organization, Punishment Fighting Championships, in association with Strikeforce.

"I'm starting my own organization also with Strikeforce called "Punishment Fighting Championships," Ortiz said. "So, you know, just not as a promoter, I'll be competing also, and bringing some other guys around and trying to create superstars."

However, when Fanhouse contacted Strikeforce director of communications Mike Afromowitz Tuesday, he made it pretty clear that no agreement is in place with Ortiz.

Tito Ortiz Claims He's Close to Strikeforce Deal, No Return to UFC

In the 13 months since his last fight, Tito Ortiz has said more times than I can count that he's close to signing a new contract to return to MMA with another organization. So take this with a grain of salt: Ortiz claims he's close to a new deal with Strikeforce, and he's already targeting an October return to fight Renato "Babalu" Sobral. He also says he has his eyes on a future fight with Fedor Emelianenko, and he says he won't return to the UFC as long as Dana White runs the company.

Lee Murray Re-Arrested on $92 Million Bank Heist Charges in Morocco

Lee Murray's freedom was short-lived. The ex-UFC fighter who is one of the most wanted men in the UK for allegedly masterminding a $92 million cash depot heist in Tonbridge, has been re-arrested in Morocco following the hearing that refused his extradition.

Ex-UFC Star and Alleged $92 Million Thief Lee Murray Released From Prison

Lee Murray, the onetime UFC fighter who allegedly masterminded the largest non-wartime cash heist in history, has been released from the Moroccan prison that has been holding him since his 2006 arrest, according to a report from ESPN The Magazine investigative writer Shaun Assael.

MMA Top 10 Light Heavyweights: What's Next for Rich Franklin?

After his victory over Wanderlei Silva at UFC 99, Rich Franklin is now on my list of the Top 10 light heavyweights in mixed martial arts -- and Silva is off it. But what's next for Franklin? I'd love to see him get a Top 10 opponent, but most of the rest of the Top 10 are already committed to other fights: Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Rashad Evans, Forrest Griffin vs. Anderson Silva, Keith Jardine vs. Thiago Silva.

I think the best option is to match up Franklin with Luiz Cane, and I think a dark horse possibility is Franklin vs. Tito Ortiz, if Ortiz returns to the Octagon. In any event, my list of the top 10 light heavyweights in MMA is below.

Will Tito Ortiz Return to the UFC?

When Tito Ortiz lost to Lyoto Machida at UFC 84, many suspected that it would be the last time "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" would ever fight inside the Octagon. Considering his long-standing feud with UFC president Dana White, it seemed unlikely that the two sides would ever work with each other again.

Or so we thought.

Ben Saunders: 'I'm Looking to Make It a Dominating Win' over Mike Swick

Ben Saunders first came on to the national MMA scene when he appeared on the sixth season of The Ultimate Fighter. Though he lost in the quarterfinals on in the show, he has gone on to become the most successful member of the season. Each time out in the octagon, he appears to get more comfortable, and in his last time out, he roughed up Brandon Wolff in a devastating first-round TKO win.

On June 13, Saunders takes a step up in competition level when he takes on welterweight contender Mike Swick at UFC 99.

Saunders recently took a few minutes to speak to FanHouse about the biggest fight in his career, whether he considers Swick a top 10 caliber fighter, and where he hopes to go from here.

UFC 98 Breakdown: Lyoto Machida vs. Rashad Evans

In some ways, the UFC 98 Rashad Evans vs. Lyoto Machida light-heavyweight title match is not getting its due. The first UFC championship fight ever to boast two unbeatens deserves more attention than its currently getting.

As it stands, Evans (13-0-1) will enter the octagon as a sizable underdog, with Machida (14-0) riding a growing surge of respect for his game. While many point to his unique striking skills as the biggest reason for his success, there are many other reasons.

So how will the matchup go down? Let's take a look.

UFC 98: What Tito Ortiz Can Teach Us About Lyoto Machida vs. Rashad Evans

This video of Dana White talking about Lyoto Machida is seven months old, but in some ways that makes it more interesting to watch today, because when White was discussing the way both Machida and Rashad Evans fought Tito Ortiz, he had no idea that he'd be promoting a Machida-Evans main event at UFC 98.

E:60 Profile a Close Look at Dana White

The long-awaited ESPN E:60 profile of UFC President Dana White will air tonight at 7 PM ET, and this afternoon I got an advance look at the full 12-minute profile. It is, as E:60 correspondent Tom Farrey said it would be, a portrait that shows both sides of White's personality: The intense worker who has turned the UFC into a huge success, and the man who has infuriated his competitors and drawn criticism for his temperament.
