Strikeforce considers Tyron Woodley one of its best welterweight prospects, and Woodley won again on Friday night, defeating Rudy Bears at the Strikeforce Challengers event in Kansas City.

Woodley got a takedown less than a minute into the fight, and when he got to full mount on the ground it looked like he was close to finishing it. Bears did a nice job of getting back up and landing a kick on his feet, but then Woodley took Bears down again and forced him to tap with an arm triangle choke midway through the first round.

Strikeforce has put the finishing touches on the televised portion of their Nov. 20 Challengers show, and it features a solid mix of up-and-coming stars.

Welterweight prospect Tyron Woodley (4-0), who defeated Zach Light at last month's Challengers event in Oklahoma, will face Strikeforce newcomer Rudy Bears in the main event. Bears (10-3) has won his last six fights in a row.

Tyron Woodley only became a professional MMA fighter seven months ago. After beating Zach Light Friday night on the Strikeforce Challengers card in Oklahoma, he's already 4-0 and one of the sport's best welterweight prospects.

A welterweight bout between prospect Tyron Woodley (3-0) and veteran Zach Light (6-8) has been signed for Strikerforce's upcoming Challengers card on September 25. Light's agent, Ken Pavia, confirmed the news with FanHouse on Tuesday. The event airs live on Showtime from the SpiritBank Event Center in Bixby, Okla.

Woodley is one of the up-and-coming fighters in the Strikeforce 170-pound division. He defeated Sal Woods via first-round Brabo choke submission in his Strikeforce debut on the undercard of the Jake Shields vs. Robbie Lawler event in June (video above).
