Parisyan Withdraws From UFC 106; Dana White Says His UFC Career Is Over

UFC welterweight Karo Parisyan has apparently used up his last chance with the organization.

After Parisyan suddenly withdrew from his UFC 106 matchup with Dustin Hazelett on Thursday, UFC president Dana White took to his Twitter to vent, writing, "Karo Parisyan has f***ed over the UFC, the fans and his opponent again!!! He will not be fighting Saturday or ever again in the UFC."

Parisyan meanwhile, told MMAWeekly.com that he could not fight because he was unable to pay a $32,000 fine stemming from a prior athletic commission drug suspension, and therefore was not issued a Nevada fighter's license.

UFC 104 Fighter Salaries: Lyoto Machida Earns $200,000

UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida walked away with $200,000 and challenger Mauricio "Shogun" Rua with $155,000 for main eventing this past Saturday's UFC 104, according to salaries disclosed to FanHouse Tuesday by the California athletic commission.

Machida won a unanimous decision over Rua to retain his belt, but even if he had lost the controversial five-round showdown, he would have still earned the same amount as there was no win bonus attached to his bout agreement.

The MMA Hour: Rogers Talks Fedor; Johnson, Sonnen Discuss UFC 104

On this week's jam-packed edition of The MMA Hour, we first spoke to heavyweight Brett Rogers about his showdown against Fedor Emelianenko on Nov. 7. Rogers was his usual confident self, predicting what round and time he'll beat the "The Last Emperor."

Later in the show, we talked to Anthony Johnson about his UFC 104 fight against Yoshiyuki Yoshida. "Rumble," who weighed 17 pounds over the 171-pound weight limit less than a week before the fight will finally get a chance to shine on pay-per-view this Saturday night. Finally, we were also joined by middleweight Chael Sonnen, who faces Yushin Okami on the UFC 104 undercard. Sonnen called Okami a "nuisance" and said a win over the Japanese fighter should put him right back in the mix for the 185-pound title. Watch or listen to the show below.

Is Anthony Johnson Ready to Take Next Step in UFC's Welterweight Division?

Anthony Johnson's climb up the UFC's 170-pound ladder has been a slow but steady one. After competing in the Octagon for two-plus years, most fighters usually receive a shot against a top contender to see if they are ready to fight elite talent. And while "Rumble" has yet to face the best welterweights the UFC has to offer, he will meet perhaps his toughest opponent to date in the form of Yoshiyuki Yoshida at UFC 104 in October.

FanHouse spoke to Johnson about his recent knee injury and fighting Yoshida. Check out the full video interview below.

Denny Hopes to End Career on High Note

2008 could have been a banner year for MMA veteran Thomas Denny. After bouncing around different local promotions for most of his career, he signed a contract with EliteXC, and much to many pundits surprise, was booked against Nick Diaz in a high-profile fight in Diaz's hometown of Stockton, Calif., on the second EliteXC on CBS telecast in July.

Fight for the Troops: Good Show, Good Cause, Nasty Endings for Yoshida, Hill, Al-Hassan

The Ultimate Fighting Championship's Fight for the Troops event last night was a good show for a good cause, and the UFC deserves to be commended for putting it on. But it also must be said that the show was marred by nasty endings to three of the 10 fights.

The worst of the three didn't make the TV broadcast. During an undercard fight, Corey Hill kicked Dale Hartt, and when Hill's shin connected, it snapped. It's one of the most horrific injuries I've seen, and I worry that the tall and lanky Hill -- a fighter I've always liked -- may never fight again. UFC.com has the video, but I urge you not to watch it if you're squeamish. It's really disgusting.

Fight for the Troops: Josh Koscheck KOs Yoshiyuki Yoshida

Josh Koscheck delivered a pair of devastating knockout punches to beat Yoshiyuki Yoshida tonight at the UFC Fight for the Troops in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Koscheck was fighting just six and a half weeks after his hard-fought loss to Thiago Alves at UFC 90. That night he struggled in the stand-up game, but tonight he was outstanding on his feet, brutalizing Yoshida with his hands to win an easy first-round knockout. It was a very good showing for Koscheck, one of the Top 5 welterweights in the world.

The Fight for the Troops was a special event put on by the UFC to benefit the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which supports the thousands of Americans who have suffered traumatic brain injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan. Throughout the event, fighters and celebrities appeared to solicit donations for the cause.

UPDATE: Fight for the Troops: Good Show, Good Cause, Nasty Endings for Yoshida, Hill, Al-Hassan
