Week two (April 13th - April 19th) of the fantasy baseball season features 38 pitchers who are making two starts. There isn't a clear cut lock for easiest schedule amongst them, but Jon Lester looks like a very good start this week against Braden in Oakland and Uehara and the Orioles at home.

Daniel Cabrera doesn't look to have a fun week in store as he has to face Jamie Moyer and the Phillies and then Josh Johnson and the Marlins. At least he gets to pitch at home both times.

Here are the rest of the two-start pitchers.

The first few days of the season are a great time for fantasy owners. We can enjoy a hot start for our team -- which obviously means a championship is on the way -- or we're stuck scouring the waiver wire for guys who have already shown they are going to be a stud all season long. Then, we remember Chris Shelton. In 2006, Shelton had 9 home runs and 17 RBI with a .471 average through 13 games. Thus, he is our namesake for Stud or Shelton.

Today, we'll check out a bevy of unheralded and/or maligned starting pitchers who have shown their true studly colors in their first start. Or have they? The lightning round of judgment follows the jump (because we heart lightning rounds).

The Detroit Tigers have rounded out their starting rotation. After Justin Verlander, Edwin Jackson and Armando Galarraga, they will use Zach Miner and 20-year-old phenom Rick Porcello. The Tigers also announced they plan to use the substantially overpaid Nate Robertson and 22-year-old Ryan Perry in the bullpen. The big news, though, was the elevation of Porcello.

The 6-foot-5 righty is only one season removed from high school. He pitched in advanced Single-A ball last season. Still, if you got it, you got it. Porcello has "it." So far this spring, he has a better ERA than all the rotation candidates except Verlander -- the staff ace.

Meet the...
Most disappointing team of 2008. This goes for real and for fantasy. Nearly the entire team was a massive bust last year -- I said nearly, because the man in the picture to the right was immune in fantasy -- as the team finished in last place. They've made some changes, and the players coming back need to just play better.

A preseason favorite to win the pennant a year ago, the Tigers collapsed under the weight of unreal expectations. Trading for Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis was supposed to put this team over the top, but in hindsight Detroit's lineup, while potent, was never as good as it looked on paper and the pitching and defense ranked among the worst in the league.

From now until the regular season begins, Fantasy Flings is where you'll find interesting story lines about your favorite teams from Spring Training. If there is a position battle, a nagging injury, a comeback story or a youngster making a surge for the "big club" we'll let you know the fantasy implications.

Chicago White Sox
The buzz around White Sox camp is position battles. Up for grabs is the third base position, center field and second base. Josh Fields and Dayan Viciedo are fighting for third and Fields has the leg up. Both hitters can mash the ball and both play suspect defense; although Fields is improving. Fields worked extensively this off-season at Camp Cora and Cora mentioned that everyone would be shocked with what they see out of Fields this year. He has three hits in six at-bats with two doubles so far this spring. Jayson Nix and his four hits in six at-bats with two doubles seem to be taking over as front-runner for the second base job thought to belong to Chris Getz. DeWayne Wise is being called the "best player this spring" and may be taking the center field job from injured Jerry Owens.

Well, that didn't take long. The Detroit Tigers have only had pitchers in Spring Training for a week and a half, but 20-year-old uber-prospect Rick Porcello is already wowing management and teammates. We already knew Porcello had a chance to reach the big club this season, and he's now off to a stellar start.

The Tigers' rotation figures to have Porcello competing with Dontrelle Willis, Zach Miner, and Nate Robertson for the fifth and final spot. If the early returns are any indication, there's no doubt which man has the highest upside for this year and beyond.

On Deck is FanHouse's look at the day's most intriguing baseball matchups

Before the season started, the Detroit Tigers were the popular pick amongst baseball fans and experts alike as the eventual World Series champion. After adding Miguel Cabrera to a potent lineup that already included hitters like Magglio Ordonez, Gary Sheffield, Carlos Guillen, Curtis Granderson, and Ivan Rodriguez, there was talk that the Tigers would score 1,000 runs this season.

Who knew they'd need to? Though most people were aware that the Detroit bullpen would be a problem area, I don't think anybody thought they would be as bad as they have been in 2008. So now here we sit on August 7th, and the Tigers find themselves in a tailspin.

After building up some momentum in recent weeks to get back into the AL Central race, the Tigers have now lost six in a row to fall three games under .500. They're also on the verge of being swept by the division leading Chicago White Sox and falling 9.5 games out of first place, which could effectively end any hope they have of playing this October.

So will the Tigers pull the plug on their season tonight, or are they going to rise up and start mauling people again? Find out after the jump.

The Tigers have done a nice job of recovering from a wretched start to the season. Expected to be a 1,000-run juggernaut, Detroit stumbled out of the gate, losing its first seven game and going 23-32 over the first two months. Entering play Saturday, the Tigers stand at 48-48. While they aren't expected to drop back below .500 for the rest of the season, the Tigers have a long way to go to catch up with the Twins and White Sox in the AL Central.

Maybe that's why both utilityman Brandon Inge and reliever Fernando Rodney are sporting brand new buzzcuts today. Detroit needs that extra push in the second half. Sure a reliable starting pitcher would go a lot farther in helping the Tigers' chances, but a new hairstyle can't hurt can it?

Who better than manager Jim Leyland, ever the gruff kidder, to comment on the new locks sported by his players?

"There's something wrong with Inge," joked Leyland before Saturday night's game in Baltimore. "He's [expletive] rowing with one oar."

"He has a good time and he plays his ass off," added Leyland in a moment of candor about Inge, who, after losing his starting role this winter, has played all over the place this season and been extremely valuable to Leyland.

As for Rodney, who is holding onto his shorn locks so he can show his mother, Leyland had a few more wisecracks. "If he shaves that [expletive] goatee, he'll look even better," said the Tigers manager. "The [expletive] shampoo will finally get to his head."

Will all this actually help Detroit? Who knows? But for a team that faced high expectations and still has a big hole to climb out of, the Tigers appear to be an awfully loose bunch.

While there are a quite a few different reasons for the Detroit Tigers 1-8 start to the season, manager Jim Leyland knows what area of the team needs to improve the most if the Tigers are going to dig themselves out of an early grave. Sure, the lineup isn't producing much at all at the moment, but it's only a matter of time before the Tigers start to hit.

The problem lies in the pitching staff, and it's not just the bullpen. As Leyland himself said on Thursday after the Tigers lost to Boston, "There isn't a bullpen in the history of baseball that could help a team when the starters can only muster five innings every night." Of course, this doesn't mean that the bullpen isn't a concern in and of itself, and Leyland has been intimating some changes being made in the near future.

Whether he intended to or not, Jim Leyland issued what amounts to a challenge to his Detroit Tigers relief corps on Thursday.

Changes are coming soon, Leyland said, because he wants to go back to a 12-man pitching staff (the Tigers currently have 13), and because he wants to add a second bullpen left-hander (the Tigers currently have just one).

"I'm going to give everyone a chance," Leyland said. "There it is. Somebody take charge. ... The reality is that the big leagues is about results, and all you can do is give people opportunities."

The problem Leyland has, though, is who does he get rid of and who does he replace him with? There are plenty of pitchers in the Tigers bullpen right now that are worthy of a demotion (Zach Miner, Jason Grilli, Yorman Bazardo), but there aren't many lefties down on the farm worthy of getting called up. The Tigers have Aaron Fultz and Clay Rapada in the minors, but neither has been pitching well, and the recently signed Casey Fossum isn't anywhere near being ready yet either. It seems like the only option that would help would be going outside the organization, but I'm pretty sure there aren't many teams who are willing to start making deals this early in the season.
