Last week, we gave you Carson Palmer as a great option, and he flopped. But remember we also said Joe Flacco would be a QB1 (ranking him as the No. 10 QB for Week 1), and he didn't disappoint. This week, we're looking at a high-scoring game in Buffalo, when the Bills take on the Buccaneers. Both secondaries did nothing to stop the pass last week, with Tony Romo continuously going deep against Tampa Bay and Tom Brady completing 39 passes against Buffalo. Both of their QB2s could make great spot starts as you search for a Donovan McNabb replacement.

There are certainly worse ways to make a living than being a backup quarterback in the NFL. After all, you get paid a handsome six-figure salary (or, perhaps, an eight-figure salary if your name happens to be Jake and you're currently on a short leash with a certain team in Carolina) to get a front-row seat to watch the best of the best do their thing on Sundays. Plus, in most cities, you're automatically the most popular guy in town because everyone assumes you can do a better job than the starter. Honestly, it's not a bad gig.

So, having said all of that, I'm not going to feel too bad for Josh Johnson, the second-year quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, even after head coach Raheem Morris gave this pep talk following the team's loss to Dallas on Sunday: "I've talked about him being my Jason Garrett, that career backup."

You can't predict injuries. Even the most injury-prone players are often able to run seven yards without being broken in half, so it's unfair to say that a major lost-time injury doesn't come as a surprise. Everyone loves fantasy football sleepers, but they change depending on league size and availability. We're here each and every week to give you a look at good plays for all types of leagues.

When I posted last week's sleepers, I hoped to hit on half of them. I felt great about Joe Flacco and Mike Bell. I thought Julius Jones and Fred Jackson were in great situations to succeed. But I also hit on a couple of deep-league sleepers, with Robert Meachem pulling out a 39-yard TD against the hapless Lions (as well as throwing in a bunch of extra points for those that count kick-return yardage) and Todd Heap exploding back onto the scene with five catches for 74 yards and a TD.

Enough with the review -- you're not here for that. On to our sleepers, first for shallower leagues, then for you deep-league owners.

I hope all of you readers scored wins in your first week of fantasy football. I wasn't so lucky, as I squared off against Ryan Dembinsky, the top scorer in Week 1. Ryan rode a 38-point performance from the Eagles defense/special teams (five sacks, five interceptions, two fumbles, two TDs) to a resounding Week 1 victory and laid early claim to being the best team in the league. Big ups to Ryan.
