It looks like we have the makings for some steamy waiver wire action as Week 9 provided a host of interesting plays. In the "one man gathers what another man spills" department, we saw a perennial backup step in as a fantasy big shot suffered a concussion, a couple of forgotten old timers break out for their new teams, a couple deep-on-depth-chart overachievers make a name for themselves and we even saw a Lion play a good game. With the trade deadline looming, waiver wire moves get even more important down the stretch, so stay on your toes. Let's go.

They say patience is a virtue, and in some cases that's true, as Eddie Royal proved on Sunday. But sometimes you have to know when to cut bait and move on to the next fling. In 'So Long, Suckers,' we'll talk about a few players that have used up their final chance -- Week 5 was the proverbial last straw. If you own these guys, cutting them was probably at the front of your mind anyway.

Training camps have wrapped up, the NFL season is right around the corner, and it's still hot as sin outside. They don't allow you to take a mulligan in pro football. If they did, one has to believe the Cincinnati Bengals would take it for the whole 2008 season. An injured quarterback, problems on defense, and a controversial and somewhat unproductive wide receiver conspired to take Cincinnati down. After a 4-11-1 campaign, the Bengals are ready to (sort of) start over.

Four of the best quarterbacks in the league, and quite possibly two of the best ever will suit up on Thursday night as week two of the NFL's preseason gets started.

While both Donovan McNabb and Brady have made headlines for off-the-field issues, (McNabb with his insistence on bringing Michael Vick to the Eagles and Brady with news of his wife Gisele and her pregnancy), none of the four play-callers are huge story line material on the field for tonight's matchups.

LOS ANGELES -- Carson Palmer is certain about two things: Electing not to have invasive "Tommy John" reconstructive surgery on his damaged throwing elbow was a wise decision.

And the Bengals quarterback will not allow Twitter-loving, attention-grabbing wide receiver and teammate Chad Ochocinco to move into his Southern California home so that the two can do some male-bonding and work out in the backyard before Cincinnati's rookies and veterans report to training camp on July 30.

No way. Forget it.

It's been over a month since we last posted positional fantasy football rankings, so it's time to run our second version. Plus, we added some staff. This is now an average ranking from eight Fantasy FanHouse writers. To view the early version of our wide receiver rankings, click here.

Unlike the second version of quarterback or running back rankings, the receivers have seen a change at the top. In this second installment, Larry Fitzgerald has surpassed Andre Johnson as our collective No. 1 wideout; it wasn't unanimous, as I still personally like 'Dre for a better year.

As is the case in every offseason, we saw several key players switch teams through trade and free agency. The highlight (if you're not a Broncos fan) was seeing Denver and Chicago swap QBs. We also saw a braggadocious receiver take his act to small-market Buffalo, a tight end get his wish for a trade granted, and a few other fantasy-relevant deals go down. Today, we'll dissect what each of those moves will do for each player in his new home.

Meet The ...
Team best known for self-destruction and felonies! Yes, only in America ... it's the Cincinnati Bengals. Honestly though, the troubled times seem to be in the past, as the Bengals are preaching team unity and singing a new tune heading into the upcoming season. Under the radar? Sleepers? Well, when was the last time we heard such chatter as it relates to the Bengals? Hold tight, let's watch this story develop. However, you heard it here first (sort of): The Bengals have some fantasy potential.

They possess one of the top quarterbacks in the league (when healthy), a stable of cast-off running backs, a troubled receiving corps with "rebound" potential and the capability to be an explosive offense, again. Will the line hold up to keep Carson healthy? Will Ochocinco snap back into circa 2005 form? A lot of questions, but you already know there is gonna be risk with these guys. However, this year they do offer a sliver of hope that they will indeed reward.

After saying that he and Carson Palmer "were like Brokeback Mountain," it only made sense that Chad Ochocinco would move in with the Bengals quarterback this summer. That was the plan (according to Mr. Ochocinco), anyway.

Palmer's wife -- and I'd assume Palmer, too -- had other ideas. The family just had twins, and even if they hadn't, I'm not sure they would be interested in introducing crazy into their home. Via the Dayton Daily News' Chick Ludwig:

For a long time, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry has only been known because of his off-field behavior. He became a poster boy of sorts for the Bengals' problems, actually getting cut at one point last year, then signed again a few months later.

As Henry prepares for his fifth NFL season, it appears that the light is starting to flicker for the former West Virginia star. Teammates and coaches are praising Henry, saying he's having the best offseason of his career.
