Hey, a win is a win. That's all that matters in the end. The Dallas Cowboys get to see a "7" in the win column of the standings after surviving 7-6 over the Washington Redskins Sunday. It wasn't pretty, but the Cowboys gutted out an old school victory.

Coming into the week, the Cowboys had been amassing a large percentage of their yardage via the air attack, behind the arm of Tony Romo. In Week 11, they seem to have decided to transform themselves. Romo attempted 27 passes, while the Cowboys ran the ball 33 times for 153 yards and counted on their defense to win the shortened game for them. It worked.

Offense -- They stormed out of the gate last season, on the shoulders of Clinton Portis. In the second half of the season, though, the offensive line began to wear down and Jason Campbell wasn't productive enough downfield to take attention away from CP26. This season, there are reasons for optimism. The offensive line has been retooled. The growth of second-year wideouts Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly will give Campbell more reliable options in the passing attack in addition to the solid Chris Cooley and Santana Moss.

The Redskins made the biggest early splash this offseason, luring beastly defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth from Tennessee to anchor their defensive line. Their work, however, is not done. Unfortunately for Washington, it plays in arguably the best division in the NFL. Fortunately, the few holes the Redskins still have on their roster should be perfectly fixable. In fact, many could be done in-house, with younger players developing further.

The Redskins stormed out of the gate in Jim Zorn's first season as head coach, running their record to 6-2 at the halfway point. The second half of the season, unfortunately, was perfectly symmetrical -- they went 2-6 to finish 8-8.

They could have won three of those games in best-case scenarios, but the best teams come through instead of talking about what could have been. The reality is that the Redskins only played a half-season in '08.

- The Redskins offense has sputtered enough against bad defenses recently to believe there will be several field goal opportunities for Shaun Suisham inside the comfort of a dome this weekend.

- Everyone's second favorite kicker entering the season, Shayne Graham, is returning from injury. The Bengals face a sieve of a defense in Houston. He's ranked low because of it being his first week back from injury and his having to rely upon Ryan Fitzpatrick and Cedric Benson to lead the team across mid-field ... but he's still a sleeper for a good week.

During Sunday's Redskins-Cowboys game, Washington kicker Shaun Suisham lined up for a 33-yard field goal. As I was watching live, I thought the kick missed, but the officials immediately put their arms up, and I figured I just saw it wrong and didn't think much of it.

Well, now The Landry Hat points out that you can watch the game highlights at NFL.com, with the field goal in question coming at the 2:12 mark. And I believe that the ball went just wide left (to the right from the vantage point of watching the NFL.com highlights) and the official standing directly under the goal post screwed up.

It's possible that I'm seeing it wrong on the replay and the official under the goal post saw it right, but I don't think so: I've reviewed the play frame-by-frame in high-definition via the DirecTV short cut, and I think the camera angle actually gives people watching on TV a better view than the on-field official had. It's a strange call to get wrong, but I think that official did. And it was extremely costly for the Cowboys, seeing as they lost by two points.

But there are a whole lot of people I'd like to play poker with, I guess, because the guy from the TV station that put it together tells Deadspin that many viewers believe it:

"We've had a ton of e-mail on this, and about 30 percent of people think it's real, which is frightening," Brett Haber, the sports director at WUSA-TV in Washington D.C., said. "Yes it's real, and so is the Easter Bunny. Our marketing department put it together in the spirit of the Kobe video to promote our Redskins preseason football package. I think the phrase they're using upstairs for the video is "summer fun." I didn't have anything to do with it, but I don't think it was ever meant to be taken seriously."

So, to be clear: No, Shaun Suisham cannot make a 110-yard field goal. No one can.
