It was hard not to feel a little burnt by Vernon Davis last week. He talks the good talk and it was impossible not to back him up in this space. Well, rest assured that last week was just a speed bump in the ways of fantasy football. Davis should return to his lofty position amongst the elite pass-catching tight end options this week. The 49ers will make sure Davis is involved early and often and a rebound seems to be in the cards.

One other guy known for his talking more so than most and hasn't been gaining a lot of talk in this space is Kellen Winlsow. Ah yes, it's time to acknowledge the solid season he is having. He's thriving on a pretty bad football team, but that doesn't matter to us fantasy owners. Show us the stats and talk all you want soldier, we like it that way. He's got a great rapport building with Josh Freeman and clearly is the best option for the Bucs. He draws the Saints this weekend and he'll be sniffing for the end zone and seeking to continue his ascension. And that's why he's leading us off this week. As for the rest of the ranks ...

Team who fooled us all a year ago! So much promise, so much hype and yes so many wasted fantasy picks. The writing was on the wall for doom in Cleveland last season. Many put their faith in Braylon Edwards and Derek Anderson to be the next great QB-WR combination in fantasy football.

This season the Browns remain a little less profile. Jamal Lewis is on the cusp of crashing into the wall, Braylon Edwards is on the trading block and we aren't really 100% sure who the QB will be week in and week out. One thing is pretty certain, you can shelve Donte Stallworth for a very, very, very rainy day.

When you break it all down, the world is full of two types of people -- those with testes and those without. Browns tight end Kellen Winslow probably wishes he was in the latter group as he continues to struggle with testicular problems that nobody really wants to reveal.

The "undisclosed illness" that was broke by Pro Football Talk as a swelling in the testicles might sideline Winslow for his second straight game. The Browns won on Monday night against the Giants, a huge upset and a jump-start to a mediocre season thus far without Winslow, but head coach Romeo Crennel is ready for him to return.

Coach Crennel said today that he's hoping to have Winslow available for the game and that he will, "if things keep progressing.''

Rumors have been floating around all week that the problem is anything from testicular cancer to an overdose of erection enhancing medication (Viva Viagra!) to even just a plain STD, but nothing has been confirmed so at this point it's all hearsay.

Browns fans shouldn't get too worried if Winslow has to miss another game. His backup, Steve Heiden, had five catches for 59 yards, more yards than Kellen has had in any game this season.

As if the Browns could use more bad news, NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting that tight end Kellen Winslow is definitely out for the team's Monday Night "showdown" with the Giants.

Winslow, who was averaging 42.5 yards per game for the 1-3 Browns, missed his fourth day of practice on Saturday for what is being reported as an undisclosed illness.

The "illness" has become so bad the former Miami star has been hospitalized and is being treated with antibiotics. News has already been leaked that the problem is an inflammation in his testicles -- so bad that Pro Football Talk said they "swelled to the size of grapefruits."

No other news outlet, however, has been as ballsy as PFT, saying that the injury is likely unrelated to any previous problems he's had with his knee.

Winslow has undergone four knee surgeries and has had to play through pain throughout most of his four-year NFL career.

His illness is not believed to be related to any of his previous injuries.

The Browns will start Steve Heiden in his place.
